2000 chickens charred to death in lightning strike

Kendrapara, Mar 20 (UNI): About 2,000 chickens were charred and three thatched houses were gutted at Kurunti village in Rajnagar block in a lightning today.

The owner of the poultry farm has been identified as Sisir Parida.

The fire spread quickly in the wind.

Paddy and valuable items stocked in the house apart from Rs 22,000 in cash were reduced in to ashes.

Rajnagar fire tender personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire, said sources.
