3 students killed, two injured in Assam road mishap

Guwahati, Oct 17 (IBNS) : At least three college students were killed and two others were seriously injured in a road mishap in Assam's Bongaigaon district on Thursday night, police said on Friday.
The incident took place at Manikpur area in Bongaigaon district, when a vehicle hit a road divider in which four college students were travelling.
 
The mishap occurred, when four students of a college of Barpeta, along with a driver were travelling in a vehicle after visiting a fair at Bijni in Chirang district on Thursday night.
 
“The driver of the vehicle had lost control and hit the divider at Manikpur area in Bongaigaon district, in which three students died on spot and two others injured,” a police official said.
 
The deceased persons were identified as Pritom Moni Das, Jahanur Islam and Mokaddas Ali Hussain.
 
Injured student Nazrul Khan and driver of the vehicle Ganesh Chetriwere admitted to Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Hospital in Barpeta.
