Nashik, Jun 19 (UNI): Unable to repay the loan, a 55-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in his field at Avankhed village in Dindori taluka of the district on Wednesday.

Farmer Ramnath Popat Jadhav-Vasal, who owned three acres of land, had taken loan from the local credit society. He could not repay loan because of low prices of the agri produce like grapes in market.

Depressed over his inability to repay the loan amount, Jadhav took extreme step early this morning.

After being informed about incident, the Dindori police rushed to the spot and recovered a suicide note from his clothes, in which it was reportedly stated that he was committing suicide due to depression.

The Dindori police has registered a case of accidental death in this regard and are conducting further investigation into it, sources added.
