65 people from Assam untraceable in Nepal

Guwahati, Apr 26 (IBNS) : At least 65 people of Assam remain untraceable in Nepal where a massive earthquake had rocked on Saturday, officials said.

The Assam state disaster management department on Sunday said that 65 people out of 90 persons of Assam are yet to be traced in Nepal.

"We have so far confirmed that at least 90 people of different parts of the state had gone to the Himalayan region. After massive earthquake we had been able to contact 19 people who had already returned to Delhi from Kathmandu today and they will leave to Guwahati on April 27, " a top official of State disaster management department said.

Meanwhile Assam government has opened helpline numbers for stranded people in Nepal.

The state disaster management department had opened 1070, Assam police special branch had opened 09435552203, 08749860803 helpline numbers.
