7 injured in grenade attack in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 29 (IBNS): Showing presence after long gap suspects militants hurled a grenade on CRPF bunker in which seven including six civilians and one CRPF Personnel got injured on Saturday sources said.

Sources told IBNS in the afternoon suspect militants lobed grenade in presence of huge rush of locals around on CRPF Picket situataed at Palladium Market Lal Chowk capital of Srinagar.

The explosion caused panic in the commercial hub as people ran for cover.

"Six civilians, and Paramilitary Officer were injured when suspected person hurled a hand grenade at a security force picket in Lal Chowk today afternoon," a senior police officer added.

While the condition of all the injured is said to be suitable, the official said that paramilitary and police forces conducted searches and frisking in the area.
