New Delhi, Apr 26 (IBNS): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi has filed a complaint against cricketer-turned politician Gautam Gambhir for allegedly possessing two Voter ID cards in two separate constituencies.

Atishi and Gambhir are the candidates of AAP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) respectively from East Delhi constituency.

Tweeting two papers, Atishi said: "I have filed a criminal complaint against the BJP candidate from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir over his possession of two voter IDs in two separate constituencies of Delhi, Karol Bagh and Rajinder Nagar."

She also alleged that Gambhir has concealed the information of his two voter IDs in an affidavit to the Returning Officer while filing his nomination.

Atishi tweeted, "In his affidavit to the Returning Officer while filing his nomination, Gambhir concealed the information that he is also registered to vote in Karol Bagh, which is punishable under Sec 125A of the Representation of the People Act with up to 6 months jail time."

Gambhir, who had scripted Indian cricket team's 2011 World Cup victory, is reportedly one of the richest candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

During nomination, he has shown an income of over Rs. 12.4 crore as per his income tax returns filed in 2017-2018.
