Abducted Army JCO rescued in Manipur

Imphal/IBNS: A serving Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army, abducted from his residence in Manipur's Thoubal district while on leave on Friday, was rescued within hours by the security agencies.

Forty-year-old Naib Subedar Konsam Kheda Singh, a resident of Charangpat Mamang Leikai, Thoubal, was abducted from his residence and taken away in a vehicle, PRO Defence said in a statement.

The army launched a coordinated joint search operation by involving all the security agencies to rescue the JCO.

The synergised efforts of the security forces resulted in the JCO being safely rescued.

The JCO is currently at Waikhong Police Station (near Kakching) in Thoubal district.

Manipur Police is investigating the incident.
