After Punjab victory, AAP expands base in eight more states

New Delhi/UNI: Buoyed by its Punjab victory, the Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday appointed election in-chargees for eight more states in a bid to expand its base further across regions.

The party has given senior leaders the responsibility to strengthen its cadre and promote the party in Karnataka, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala and Rajasthan.

"After achieving a thumping victory in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party is rapidly expanding bases throughout the country. In a significant development today, the party announced new office bearers for eight more States," a statement issued from AAP said.

"AAP has trusted its experienced leaders to drive its campaigns throughout the country. Senior leaders with proven electoral performances to their name have been appointed as election in-charge for the states the party is looking to enter," it added.

The party has appointed MLA Dilip Pandey as the election in-charge for Karnataka and MLA Ajesh Yadav for Bihar.

MLA Ajay Dutt has been appointed the co-election in-charge of Himachal Pradesh and senior leader Dinesh Pratap Singh has been appointed as the co-in-charge of Haryana, AAP announced.

This announcement comes a week after it had announced new office bearers for nine key states to build state-level teams.
