Air hostess's body found outside her Kolkata apartment, 2 detained

Kolkata, Aug 16 (IBNS): The body of a young air hostess was recovered from in Kolkata's Kestopur on Wednesday morning, triggering a commotion.

According to reports, locals found the body, lying on the road outside an apartment in the Baguiati Police Station area at around 5 am. and called in the police.

A local police official said, the woman has been identified as Khongsit Clara Bansha Rai.

"Khongsit Clara Bansha Rai, who hailed from Shillong, was serving as a lead cabin attendant in Indigo Airlines and had been staying in an apartment at Kestopur's Prafullakanon area, outside which her body was recovered," the police official told IBNS.

"After preliminary investigation, we have come to know that the young lady was celebrating her friend's birthday last night inside her flat on the second floor of the apartment. We are suspecting the she died after falling from her flat's window," the officer added.

Police have begun probe into the matter to know whether she committed suicide or she was pushed to death.

"We have started investigation into the case. We have  detained for interrogation  two friends of the deceased - a male and a female,  who were present at her flat last night, " a police official said.
