Srinagar, July 18 (IBNS) At least 24 people were injured when clashes broke out in Baltal base camp of Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

According to sources, stone pelting  broke out Friday morning at Baltal area of central Kashmir's Ganderbal district following the stabbing of a person last night.

The paramilitary CRPF men had to fire teargas shells to control a mob consisting of tent owners, pony owners, traders and labourers, who were protesting against the stabbing of a local pony owner.

Meanwhile, Amaranth Yatra en route to the cave has been suspended keeping in view the incident in the area.

To control the mob, an extra contingent of police was rushed to the area to maintain the law and order.
