Amid stand-off With China, IAF's aircraft lands close to border

New Delhi, Nov 3 (IBNS): Amid a stand-off between India and China in Ladakh, the Indian Air Force on Thursday landed its giant C-17 Globemaster aircraft very close to the border with China, media reports said.

According to reports, the aircraft landed at the Mechuka Advanced Air Landing Ground just 29 km from the border.

This comes after Chinese and Indian soldiers engaged in a major stand-off in Ladakh.

The stand-off happened after "Chinese troops yesterday stopped work on the construction of an irrigation canal being built under the rural development or MNREGA scheme," sources told NDTV.

The incident took place in the Demchok sector, which is located 250 km east of Leh, on Wednesday.
