Amit Shah's meeting clashes with Mamata's in Darjeeling

| @indiablooms | Apr 09, 2019, at 04:14 pm

Darjeeling, Apr 9 (UNI) Darjeeling district administration has denied permission to BJP for holding a rally in the hill town on April 11 as it is clashing with a Mamata Banerjee's rally in the town on Thursday, the first day polling of the 7-phase election in West Bengal.

The district administration told a BJP delegation that the All India Trinamool Congress had applied before for Darjeeling town rally on April 11.

The saffron brigade, which has support from the Bimal Gurung faction of GJM and Mann Ghisingh led GNLF in the hills for its nominee, is now looking for an alternate site, probably Kalimpong district for Amit Shah's rally.

Shah is expected to address two rallies on the day - in the hills and Raiganj in North Dinajpur.
