Hyderabad, May 12 (IBNS): As the final phase of the nine phased Lok Sabha elections concluded on Monday, results of municipal or local elections in Andhra Pradesh are being counted, where N Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is leading ahead so far, media reports said.

The party is shortly followed by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

TDP has reportedly bagged the Lamanchili and Narsipatnam municipalities in Visakhapatnam district.

It is also leading in the Parvathipuram, Saluru and Vizianagaram municipalities in Vizianagaram district while YSRCP bagged the Bobbili municipality.

Meanwhile, according to reports, Congress has fared poorly in these civic body polls in the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.

N Chandrababu Naidu tweeted: "The Municipal & Corporation election results show TDP's victory has mirrored peoples' confidence towards development & effective governance."

Elections were held for 145 nagar panchayats and municipalities and 10 municipal corporations in Andhra Pradesh on Mar 30.
