Andhra Pradesh: Naidu asks cadre to be on alert ahead of April 11 voting

Amaravati, Apr 9 (UNI): Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam Party national president N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked his cadre to be on high alert during the next two days.

Addressing TDP leaders through video conference here on Tuesday, he alleged that the Opposition YSRCP was spending money in a big way to win the general election to be held on April 11.

He asked the TDP cadre to continue election campaign till this evening.

Referring to Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s announcement during election campaign that he would extend support to AP in getting Special Category Status (SCS), Naidu said Rao had opposed granting SCS to the state during Telangana Assembly election held in December last year.

Now Mr Chandrashekar Rao had announced his support for AP in getting SCS, keeping in view his alliance with the YSRCP.

The TRS removed 25 lakh names from the voters list in Telangana before the Assembly election and the YSRCP wanted to implement the same in Andhra Pradesh but the TDP had thwarted their attempts, the chief minister alleged.
