Angry passengers throw stones at Maha Kumbh-bound train after finding doors were locked, video goes viral

An unruly scene was seen at Harpalpur railway in Madhya Pradesh when some passengers were pelting stones at a special Maha Kumbh bound train from Jhansi to Prayagraj.

According to reports, the train was attacked after passengers found the doors of the compartment remained shut.

The video of the incident has now gone viral.

Internet users have expressed shock over the video.

The train reportedly left Jhasi on Monday night.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Police Force (RPF) rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.

“The matter was immediately brought to our attention, and security personnel from RPF and GRP took swift action to control the situation. The train was safely dispatched to its destination," Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Jhansi Railway Division, Manoj Kumar told India Today.

Kumar asked passengers to maintain coordination at the stations to avoidthe  occurrence of a similar incident in future.
No injury was reported.
