Anushka Sharma in Bombay HC challenging 'inflated' taxes

| @indiablooms | Jan 13, 2023, at 02:22 am

Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma has knocked the doors of the Bombay High Court challenging two orders passed by the deputy commissioner of Sales Tax on taxes, media reports said.

The two notices were sent to Anushka in 2012-13 and 2013-14.

Judges Nitin Jamdar and Abhay Ahuja have directed the Sales Tax Department to respond to Anushka's appeal.

Anushka, a leading Bollywood actor, has argued she should be taxed as a performer and as an actor or performer.

The actor had filed four petitions between 2012 and 2016.

After the high court refused to entertain her tax consultant's plea on tax in December, Anushka had filed a fresh plea in the court last week.

The next hearing will be held on Feb 6.
