Army Day: Capt Tania Sher Gill, first woman officer to lead men contingent as Parade Adjutant

New Delhi/UNI: Indian Army officer Capt Tania Sher Gill will be the first woman as Parade Adjutant to lead all men contingent on Army Day Parade 2020, which is scheduled to take place on January 15, here.

Capt Sher Gill belongs to Corps of Signal and was Commissioned in March, 2017 from OTA Chennai, an Indian Army official said.

The officer is B Tech in Electronics Communication and is the fourth generation Army officer.

Capt Bhavna Kasturi was the first woman officer to lead an all- men contingent on Republic Day in 2019.

She is the fourth generation army officer.

Her father was in 101 Med Regiment (Arty), grandfather was in 14th Armd Regt (Scinde Horse), while her great grandfather was in the Sikh regiment.

Last Year, Capt Bhavna Kasturi from Army's Service Corps (ASC) was the first woman officer, to lead an all- men contingent on Republic Day.
