Army flags off Veer Naris tour

Udhampur , Oct 7 (IBNS) To commemorate golden jubilee year of Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) a National Integration Tour (NIT) of 25 Veer Naris(War widows) from the state of J&K was flagged off by Rashmi Hooda, Regional President, AWWA Northern Command from Udhampur today.

Rashmi Hooda presented all the veer naris with travel hampers and shawls. The seven days trip will provide veer naris an opportunity to visit historical, religious and national monuments of New Delhi and Agra.

The planned tour to promote the spirit of integration and inspire goodwill would provide the veernaris to improve their historical knowledge by their visit to Rashtrapathi Bhavan, India Gate, Red Fort, Qutab Minar, Lotus Temple, Akshardham Temple, Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. 

This will also give the Veer Naris of J&K State an opportunity to meet and interact with ladies and families of Army establishments at New Delhi and Agra.

The AWWA, Northern Command has chartered for fulfilling the societal obligation through social empowerment and skill building of spouses,veer naris, dependents of Army personnel since inception.

It also aims at the holistic development and well-being of veer naris of J&K state, which is reeling under the impact of terrorism since long time. To mitigate personal and domestic problems of veer naris and to ensure personal healing touch and emotional support, AWWA Northern Command has taken personal interest in instituting various major and micro ventures for the welfare of veer naris all over the state.
