Army's Northern Command celebrates Signals Corps Day

Udhampur, Feb 15 (IBNS): The 105th Anniversary of the Corps of Signals was celebrated at Headquarters Northern Command at Udhampur on Sunday.
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Lt Gen DS Hooda, Northern Command in his message to the Signallers in Northern Command urged them to continue to excel in their respective roles and further hone their skills to face the challenges of future warfare and live up to their motto of “Teevra Chaukas” . 
 
Signallers of Indian Army’s Northern Command have kept the flag of the Corps flying high by ensuring reliable, seamless, responsive real time and secure communications for all operational facets. The Corps remains inspired by its rich traditions, roofed in the present and aligned with its future, enabling the Indian Army’s transformation into a fully network centric force.
 
Signals Units in the Northern Command commemorated the hallowed occasion by holding social and welfare events at their units locations.  Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, men, veterans and their families participated in the celebrations, which further strengthened the bonds of camaraderie, esprit-de-corps and rekindled the sense of pride and belonging to the glorious Corps of Signals.
 
Raised in 1911, the Corps operates at the cutting edge of the ICTEC (Information, Communication, Technology, Electronic and Cyberspace).
