Guwahati, Apr 5 (IBNS): In an attempt to set a record in Guinness World Records, around 5000 women of Konyak tribes in Nagaland on Friday had participated in a traditional Konyak dance in Nagaland’s Mon district.

The Konyak women had participated in the traditional Konyak dance at Mon Aoleang Monyu-cum-Mini Hornbill Festival held at Mon town local ground.

The Konyak women were seen to dance in the ceremonial song, invoking blessings on the Konyak people and the festival in traditional attire in the third day of the festival under the theme ‘Empowering Women for Cultural Heritage’.

The event was organised by the Konyak Union in coordination with the Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) and Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) aiming to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the Konyak tribes on a global platform and to promote tourism in the region.
