Arthur Road jail to bolster its security for Chhota Rajan's safeguard

| | Nov 02, 2015, at 06:50 pm
Mumbai, Nov 2 (IBNS) Mumbai's Arthur Road jail is planning to tighten its security for the arrival of top gangster Chhota Rajan, according to media reports.

Rajan, who is awaiting extradition from Indonesia's Bali to India on request of the latter to the former's government officials, was arrested by Bali police last week while he was returning from Australia.

Considering all possible future consequences keeping in mind the feud Rajan has with Dawood Ibrahim, another wanted mafia, a senior official was quoted by the Hindustan Times as saying, "We will rope in a security force equivalent to ITBP to ensure tight security at Arthur Road jail. This was discussed at a recent meeting attendant by senior officials from of jail, the police and the government."

Another source said that Rajan is likely to be housed in the same high security cell that of Ajmal Kasab.

Rajan is currently facing charges in 75 cases under several acts.
