New Delhi/IBNS: Slamming the Delhi Chief Minister, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijay Goyal has said Arvind Kejriwal took no step to control the air pollution in the national capital but imposed Odd-Even rule which is in place from Monday.

Goyal told media, "I didn't read a single statement of the government regarding air pollution. Arvind Kejriwal did nothing but only imposed Odd-Even rule. He has spent huge sums of money for advertisements. What will people do with Kejriwal's smiling faces (on posters) to tackle pollution?"

"Earlier reports claimed the Odd-Even policy didn't yield anything in controlling pollution," the BJP leader, who said will defy the Odd-Even rule, said.

On Monday morning as per the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) the overall AQI was recorded at 739 while the Particulate Matter (PM) 2.5 was recorded at 558 in the 'severe' category. An AQI between 0-50 is considered "good", 51-100 "satisfactory", 101-200 "moderate", 201-300 "poor", 301-400 "very poor", and 401-500 "severe". Above 500 is "severe-plus or emergency" category, reported Times Now.

Schools in the national capital will remain shut till Tuesday.
