Arvind Kejriwal promises 300 units of free electricity to Goa as state polls next year

Panaji/IBNS: After Punjab and Uttarakhand, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal has now promised big to people of Goa, which will be polled next year, on power consumption.

Kejriwal on Wednesday said if his regional satrap Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) comes to power in Goa will give free electricity to all people up to 300 units, free electricity to farmers, waive all old or pending bills and reduce power cut to zero.

"This is not a poll promise, this is Arvind Kejriwal's guarantee," he said.

"We will start on a clean slate," the AAM supremo said.

Aiming to replicate his Delhi model, Kejriwal added, "Goa wants change! Goa wants clean politics. Goans saw how Delhiites kicked out both BJP and Congress and gave rise to honest politics. Now Goans also want free electricity without power cuts, mohalla clinics, world-class govt schools and hospitals."

In the last assembly elections held in 2017, the Congress, despite emerging as the single largest party without a majority, had failed to form the government as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had managed to stitch a few alliances to assume power.

Slamming both the parties, Kejriwal said, "Goans gave the mandate to Congress but BJP formed the government. The BJP was given only 13 MLAs, but is now running the government. The Congress was given 17 MLAs, but is now sitting in the opposition. Both these parties have made elections a farce!"

The majority mark in the 40-member Goa assembly is 21.
