New Delhi, Mar 29 (IBNS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said he feels "sorry and sad for students" who will have to sit for re-examinations following the leakage of Class X Mathematics and Class XII Economics papers of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Kejriwal tweeted, "I really feel sorry and sad for the students who have to give their exams again for no fault of theirs. Responsibility shud be fixed n strict action shud be taken against those responsible."

The new dates for the examination will be announced within a week, the CBSE said.

Delhi police on Thursday detained a coaching institute founder in connection with the Central Board of Secondary Education paper leak case after the board authorities named him as a suspect in a complaint, reports said.

The man identified as 40-year-old Vicky was detained a day after the CBSE announced that it would re-conduct the Class 10 mathematics and Class 12 economics examinations following reports that the exam papers had leaked.

Vicky is the owner of a Delhi-based Vidya Coaching Centre.

He is currently being questioned by crime brunch officers.

Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar  also assured that those guilty of leaking the Board examination papers would not go scot-free.

“Dear Students, I fully understand your anguish, helplessness, anger and frustration. It is really painful that criminals do the wrong and the honest and brightest suffer. I can understand the pain & frustration of parents & children. Culprits will be nabbed soon and strict action will be taken. We are taking all measures to ensure that the exams remain fool-proof,” he tweeted.
