Ashutosh apologies after saying Kejriwal will climb trees to stop suicides
New Delhi, Apr 22 (IBNS): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh on Wednesday evening apologised for his remark on a farmer committing suicide at a rally in Delhi.
"I am extremely sorry for my statement . And apologise for that," he tweeted.
Ashutosh, during a press conference, lashed out at the media over criticisms for the AAP workers, who were slammed for continuing the rally even after the mishap.
"It was the mistake of Arvindji that he did not climb up the tree to save him (farmer). Next time, I'll ask the Delhi Chief Minister to climb up the tree," he said.
The farmer, identified as Gajender, hung himself from the tree and committed suicide.
After the man fell down from the tree, he was taken to a hospital.
In the hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
The AAP hosted the rally to protest against Centre's Land Acquisition Ordinance.
