Assam: 20 students rescued after country boat capsizes in midst of Kopili river

Guwahati, May 25 (IBNS): At least 20 students have been safely rescued after a country boat capsized in Kopili river in Assam’s West Karbi Anglong district.

According to the reports, the incident took place at Sildubi ghat bordering area of West Karbi Anglong and Hojai district on Thursday evening.

The boat ferrying about 20 students, between 11-16 years of age, capsized in midst of the river.

Following the incident, local villagers gathered at the area and started the rescue operation.

Local villagers immediately swung into action and safely rescued the students.
