Assam cabinet to be reshuffled before Jan 21

Guwahati, Jan 17 (IBNS) : The AICC has given green signal to Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to reshuffle his cabinet before Jan 21, a top official of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee said.

The Assam CM has instructed his cabinet ministers to attend a crucial meeting on Jan 19 at his government residence in Koinadhara outskirts of Guwahati.

A top source of the Assam Congress had said that, the Assam CM had asked the cabinet meeting before reshuffle and instructed all ministers to give their resignation in the meeting.

On other hand, newly appointed APCC president Anjan Dutta said that several cabinet ministers will be dropped in the reshuffle and at least 12 new ministers will be introduced.


"The reshuffle list was finalized by the Congress high command and top Congress leader Dr CP Joshi. At least six ministers of the present cabinet and closed with the CM will be dropped, " the Assam Congress source said.
