Assam: Minor boy killed in grenade blast in Tinsukia district

Guwahati: A12-year-old minor boy was killed in a grenade blast incident in Assam’sTinsukia district on Tuesday morning. 

The incident took placeat Kotha Kathoni area near Jagun in the upper Assam district at around 8-30 am. 

The deceased minor boywas identified as 12-year-old Suraj Hajong hailing from Jagun Hajong village. Locals said that, the boy was heading towards the bank of Buhidihing river with his bicycle and hefound an abandoned grenade in the area. 

The blast occurred whenthe boy lifted the grenade. Following the blastlocals rushed to the spot and admitted the severely injured boy at hospital,but he succumbed to his injuries.
