Assam panchayat polls : Re-polling in 43 booths begins

Guwahati, Dec 7 (IBNS): Amid tight security, re-polling in 43 polling booths of the first phase of Assam pnachayat elections began on Friday.

The re-polling started at 7 am and will end at 4 in the evening.

The first phase of panchayat polls in 16 districts was held on December 5 and the turnout recorded was over 75 percent.

The second phase of panchayat polls in 10 districts of the state will be held on December 9.
