Assam: Tea garden technician kidnapped

Guwahati, Oct 12 (UNI) A technical worker of a tea estate in Makum in Tinsukia district of Assam was allegedly kidnapped by ULFA (I) militants yesterday.

Official reports said the technician, Gauranga Deb, was kidnapped by a group of four men from the factory of the tea garden last evening.

The kidnappers had asked to meet the manager of the tea garden, but as he was not present, they reportedly abducted Deb.

The kidnappers are suspected to be members of the ULFA (I). Police have launched an investigation into the case.
