Srinagar, Feb 13 (IBNS): At least 12 students were injured in a blast at a private school in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulmama district today, media reports said.

The explosion took place at Falah-i-Millat school at Narbal village around 2.30pm. All the injured are Class 10 students.

The injured - different reports pegged the number between 12 and 28 - are being treated at Pulwama District Hospital and other health care facilities.

“Three among the injured were referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment,” a doctor told Greater Kashmir.

The reason behind the blast is still unclear.

According to a Scroll report citing the versions of local journalists, clashes started between the villagers and security forces after the school blast. The security personnel had to fire tear gas to bring the situation under control.
