Ayodhya to light up on 'Ram Janmabhoomi Poojan' ceremony; Yogi Adityanath reviews preps

Ayodhya/IBNS: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, who is in the city 10 days ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Ram Temple, on Saturday promised celebrations will light up every home and temple on the nights of August 4 and 5, media reports said.

The Chief Minister embarked on his Ayodhya tour with a visit to Ram Janmabhoomi complex where the August 5 ceremony will be held. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to attend the programme.

Adityanath also offered prayers to Lord Ram at the site.

Later, Yogi Adityanath discussed the preparations for the ceremony with officials and religious leaders.

The Ayodhya MP, MLAs, members of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and local administration attended the meeting where he said a 'deepotsava' in all houses and temples on the nights of August 4 and 5.

"Ram Chandra Paramhans's (the late head of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas) soul must feel content that his dreams are being fullfilled. This is a big landmark for all saints who have given their life for the temple," Adityanath was quoted as saying by NDTV.

The ceremony will be held with a total of 150 to 200 people with social distancing norms in the times of the coronavirus pandemic.

After the groundbreaking ceremony, the construction will start and take three years to complete.

The Prime Minister will lay the 40 kg silver brick foundation as the foundation stone.

The August 5 ceremony will be preceded by a three-day long Vedic rituals, reports said.
