Guwahati, May 31 (IBNS): Bangladesh had repatriated two Indian nationals, who were in Bangladesh jail, to India through Indo-Bangladesh border in Assam’s Karimganj district on Thursday.

The Bangladesh authority had handed over the Indian nationals to Indian authority at Sutarkandi check post in Karimganj district.

The two Indian nationals were identified as Iqbal Hussain Dilwar and Selim Uddin and they are hailing from Assam’s Hojai district.

They were arrested by the Bangladesh security personnel in 2018 and were lodged in jail in past a year.

On the other hand, the Indian authority had also deported one Bangladeshi national identified as Babul Roy Ghatowar, who had illegally entered into India.

“We have deported one Bangladeshi national, who was apprehended by the Karimganj district police. We have also taken over repatriated two Indian nationals, who were lodged in Bangladesh jail for breaking passport laws. They are hailing from Hojai district,” a police officer said.
