Bardhaman blast: Sajid sent to NIA custody

Kolkata, Nov 9 (IBNS): A local court on Sunday sent suspected Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) commander Sajid, who is the mastermind of Burdwan blast case, to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) cusotdy till Nov 20.

Under tight security, he was brought to the court.

The Bidhannagar City Police on Saturday arrested Sajid from Dumdum airport area here.

The NIA has declared that Sajid alias Rahamatullah was the chief the Burdwan module.

On Oct 2, a terror module got busted in Khagragarh in West Bengal's Burdwan district after an inadvertent explosion took place when suspected Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorists were making Improvised Explosive Device (IED), thus killing 2 of them.
