Kolkata, Jul 5 (IBNS): The Chief National Spokesperson of All India Trinamool Comgress Derek O'Brian accused Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy and BJP faithfuls of spreading bile against the state government.

Derek's tweet read, "Guv of Tripura, a UP minister, some journos turned cheerleaders now gang up with assorted bhakts to try & spread communal bile in #Basirhat"

The MP was speaking about the latest communal riot which plagued a part of the state.

Earlier, TMC chief and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made a series of allegations against Bengal Governor Kesari Nath Tripathi.

Banerjee said that the Governor insulted her and was acting like a 'BJP Block President'.

"He is a constitutional person nominated by the Centre. But he is speaking like a block president of the BJP. He disrespected me. I am telling the religious leaders that I have protected them but I will not tolerate if I am humiliated like this for their actions,' she said.

Following the allegations, the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata issued a statement saying, "There was nothing in the talks for which the CM might have felt insulted, threatened or humiliated."

"It is proper for the Hon'ble Governor to bring to the notice of the Hon'ble Chief Minister any serious grievance made by any member of public or any serious event happening in the State. The Hon'ble Governor cannot remain a mute spectator of the affairs in the State,' the statement further read.

Banerjee had also told reporters that it was not her government's fault that some youth took to Facebook to post a derogatory status.

Arson and clashes occurred between members of two communities in Baduria in Basirhat sub-division of the district over the FB post. Police and paramilitary forces combatted the irate mobs.
