Bengaluru, Feb 19 (IBNS): A pilot died after two jets of the Indian Air Force's Suryakiran Aerobatic Team crashed down at the Yelahanka airbase in Bengaluru on Tuesday, media reports said.

The mishap occurred just a day before the Aero India Show in Bengaluru.

The aircraft, believed to be BAE Hawk MK 132,  crashed down during a rehearsal session before the show, media reports said.

Two pilots were successful in ejecting out from the air crafts.

They have been shifted to hospital for treatment.

“One pilot has succumbed to injuries in the Surya Kiran jet crash; two others safe,” DGP Fire Services M N Reddi told Hindustan Times.

TV visuals showed smoke coming out from the venue of the crash.

Debris could be seen scattered all over the airbase.

Aero India show will be held between Feb 20 and Feb 24.
