Bihar: Rake of a goods train derailed

Chhapra, Apr 3 (UNI) The movement of long distance and local trains was disrupted after a rake of a goods train derailed near Nayagaon station on Goldenganj-Sonpur section of East Central railway in Saran district today.

Rail police said that a team of railway authorities from Sonpur division rushed to the spot on the receipt of information. Efforts were underway to remove the rake from UP line and restore train services.

Rail police said here that the movement of train was disrupted for some time on Down line after the derailment. Sources said that reason behind derailment of rake of the goods train was not immediately known.

As it is, 13 compartments of Chhapra-Surat Tapti Sugar Express had jumped off tracks near Gautamasthan railway station on Chhapra-Benaras section of North Eastern Railway on March 31 last.
