BJD will have no truck with any political party in the elections: Naveen

Bhubaneswar,Mar 12 (UNI) Ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will not have any truck with any political party and fight the coming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state alone.

BJD Supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said his party will go alone both in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

The elections for 147 Assembly seats and 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state will be held in four phases beginning from April 11 next.

Replying to questions by media persons here today, Patnaik the BJD will go alone for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. ‘’We will have no alliance with any party for the polls,” he reiterated.

The chief minister had all along been maintaining that the BJD will maintain equidistance from both the Congress and the BJP.

Replying to another question, the BJD president said winnability will be the prime criteria for selections of party candidates for the coming elections.

Patnaik had already hinted that the process for selection of candidates is on and the list of candidates will be announced shortly.BJD is fully prepared for the elections, he said.

The ruling BJD has won 117 of the total 147 Assembly seats and 20 of the 21 Lok Sabha seats in 2014 elections.
