BJP and PM indulging in dirty politics over Pulwama attack and IAF strike: TMC

Guwahati, Feb 28 (IBNS): Mamata Banerjee-led All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of indulging in dirty politics over Pulwama terror attack and Indian Air Force (IAF) strikes.

West Bengal urban development and municipal affairs minister Firhad Hakim said the Indian Air Force had given an appropriate reply and we are all proud of that. But it is not the credit of the BJP or PM Narendra Modi. If he takes credit for the strike, he should also take responsibility for the soldiers killed in the Pulwama attack.

“At that time you said that, it was intelligence failure and this you will take credit. If you want to take credit of this strike back then also take the responsibility of that terrorist attack and the unfortunate death of our so many security personnel,” the TMC leader said.

“We are all proud of our army, we are all proud of our air force. Our leader Mamata Banerjee has stated that our air force is Indian Amazing Force. Indian Army, Indian Air Force belongs to India and as an Indian we are all proud of that," he said.

The TMC leader also said the BJP and Narendra Modi had indulged in dirty politics.

“Parties will come and go but India and the Indian Army will be there. So it is not appropriate to take Indian Army as consideration and it should not be part of our politics. It should be out of politics,” the TMC leader said.

On the other hand, TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay said that all credit goes to the Indian Air Force itself.

A TMC team including West Bengal minister Firhad Hakim, MPs Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Santanu Sen and MLA Nayna Bandyopadhyay had visited Assam on Wednesday to kick-start the party’s election campaign for the Lok Sabha poll in the state.

The TMC leaders took part a public rally held at Dhula near Mangaldoi in Assam’s Darrang district.

TMC’s Assam unit president and former Assam minister Gopinath Das, Prasenjit Choudhury also present in the public rally that was attended by more than 10,000 people.
