BJP announces four more Lok Sabha candidates for UP

Lucknow Apr 6 (UNI) The BJP on Saturday announced the name of four more Lok Sabha candidates for Uttar Pradesh.

The BJP has so far announced the candidate for 70 seats out of total 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. The ruling party has so far denied ticket to 15 sitting MPs.
From the Phulpur BJP has fielded Kesri Devi Patel, former chairperson of the Prayagraj district panchyat. Neelam sonkar will be the candidate from the Lalganj (reserved) Lok Sabha seat. Anuragh Sharma will be the BJP candidate from Jhansi in place of the Union minister Uma Bharti who was elected from this seat in 2014.

Uma Bharti has declined to contest the election from Jhansi.


The BJP has also changed candidate from Banda Lok Sabha seat and fielded RK Patel in place of sitting MP BP Mishra. For the by election to Nighasan assembly seat in Lakhimpur district the BJP has fielded Shashank Verma, son of the former MLA Ram Kumar Verma whose death caused the by election.
