BJP, CPI-M slam WB govt over Burdwan explosion

Kolkata, Oct 5 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) critcised the Trinamool Congress (TMC)-led government in the state over the recent explosion at a house in Burdwan district of the state last week.

The BJP attacked the government and said it has turned the state into a 'safe heaven' for anti-national and jihadi activities.

BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh told media: "Due to the vote bank politics which is followed in West Bengal by the TMC, the Bangladeshi infiltrators and jihadi groups are given safe heaven here."

The CPI-M demanded for a probe into the matter.

"The incident must be properly investigated and truth must come out," CPI-M leader Mohammed Salim told media.

The police have arrested two people in connection with an explosion at a house in West Bengal's Burdwan district on Thursday.

The explosion left two suspected terrorists killed in Khagragarh area.

The police have arrested two people who were identified as s Rejara Biwi and Amina Biwi.

The police had recovered Improvised explosive devices, watch dials and detonators and other materials from the house where the explosion took place, reports said.
