BJP leader Manish Shukla shooting: One more suspect arrested

Kolkata/UNI:  One more suspect has been arrested in the incident related to the shooting down of BJP leader Manish Shukla in West Bengal.

The saffron brigade is demanding CBI probe into the Titagarh shooting down incident.

The state police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), lately arrested one Nasir Khan, who is uspected to be involved in the assassination of former Titagarh Municipality Councillor Manish Shukla (39) at his party office at Titagarh area in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Sunday evening.

CCTVs footage shows four gunmen on two bikes sprayed the bullets on the BJP leader while he was sitting at his party office.

Police arrested two suspects Md Khurram Khan and Gulab Ali Sheikh on Monday night.

Khurram Khan was one of the suspects named in the FIR by Chandra Mani Shukla, father of the slain BJP leader.

Meanwhile, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh, who has been campaigning for the CBI probe into the incident, slammed the CID's man hunt in some areas of South 24 Parganas.

He described the CID's search operations, including in Canning area, as an "eyewash".

He claimed only CBI probe could reveal the truth into a brazen attack on his party colleague in North 24 Parganas.

BJP's legal cell on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration and marched from Calcutta High court to Bankshall court, demanding the CBI inquiry into Manish Shukla killing.
