New Delhi, Nov 8 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary board is slated to meet after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi on Saturday, media reports said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leadership of the party are likely to green-signal the cabinet expansion that is scheduled on Sunday.

The oath-taking ceremony is expected to begin at 1.30 pm on Sunday in the Durbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, sources said.

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is tipped to take over as India’s next Defence Minister. He will resign as Goa CM on Saturday.

Among other names doing the rounds are those of Giriraj Singh, a former Bihar minister, and Ramkirpal Yadav, the BJP's new import from Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Olympic Silver medalist Rajyawardhan Rathore, an MP from Rajastha, is another key contender.

BJP spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi could also be made a minister, sources said.
