Patna/UNI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said BJP was spreading hatred across the country and his party would foil the hatred agenda of the saffron party by giving a message of love and fraternity among the people.

Gandhi, after his arrival here to attend a meeting of opposition parties across the country, addressed Congress workers at party headquarters.

In his address, Gandhi alleged that BJP was spreading hatred among the people across the country.

Congress leader said that his party was determined to defeat the sinister design of the BJP of spreading hatred.

It could be done only by giving a message of love and fraternity among the people, he noted and called upon party workers to fight unitedly to defeat BJP.

In Karnataka, BJP faced crushing defeat when Congress unitedly fought in Assembly elections there, he pointed out.

Gandhi said Congress would also emerge victorious in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Telangana assembly elections. He dubbed Congress workers as the inspiring force of the party.

Gandhi along with top opposition leaders will attend the meeting convened at the initiative of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, NCP leader Sharad Pawar, CPI leader D Raja, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, CPI(ML) leader Deepankar Bhattacharya and Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray are among top opposition leaders attending the meeting.

The meeting will discuss ways for national level unity among opposition parties to take on BJP in next Lok Sabha elections.
