BJP strikes alliance with Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena in Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi/IBNS: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has struck an alliance with Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party in Andhra Pradesh ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday announced Naidu's decision to return to the saffron party-led coalition National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Nadda posted on X, "I wholeheartedly welcome the decision of Shri @ncbn and Shri @PawanKalyan to join the NDA family. Under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi ji, BJP, TDP, and JSP are committed to the progress of the country and the upliftment of the state and people of Andhra Pradesh."

Naidu, a former ally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP, left the NDA in 2018 while he was the Chief Minister of the southern state.

A year later, Naidu was voted out of power as Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP swept the assembly polls.

After TDP rejoined NDA, Naidu's son and TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh termed this alliance as a "turning point".

Nara Lokesh posted on X, "@JaiTDP, @JanaSenaParty and @BJP4India are joining forces to bring Andhra Pradesh back on growth track. This is a significant moment for our state, which has suffered and lived through its darkest phase in history over the last five years.

"History will record this alliance as a turning point, a necessity that positively transformed the State and the lives of the people of Andhra Pradesh."
