BJP's ally AGP unhappy with the Chairman, Deputy Chairman list of government undertaking bodies

Guwahati, Mar 5 (IBNS): The ally party of the BJP led Assam government, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has gone vexed following the party was neglected in the list of 43 chairmen and deputy chairmen to the various government undertaking bodies, which were appointed by the state government on Saturday.

Former minister and AGP leader Dr Kamala Kanta Kalita said that, his party is quite unhappy with the list.

"The list has no sufficient for the regional party leaders, but most of them included from BJP," the AGP leader said.

Out of 43, the state government has included only four AGP leaders name in the list.

Apart from AGP, three Bodoland People's Front (BPF) leaders name, ally party of the state government, were included in the list.

In the first time, the Assam government has appointed 18 depty chairmen to the government undertaking bodies.


The AGP leader urged Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to reconsider the list to ensure adequate space for the regional party leaders in the list.

The state government has appointed 36 BJP leaders including Jadav Deka, Bijoy Gupta, Jayanta Malla Baruah, Mominul Awal, Rajen Borthakur, Subhash Dutta, Pabitra Margherita, Rupam Goswami, Jatin Bora, Jitu Talukdar, Misanranjan Das, Manoj Baruah, Palit Bora, Shiva Bhodra, Jitu Goswami, Queen Ojah, Hemaprova Borthakur, Chikimiki Talukdar, Lakhya Konwar as chairman and deputy chairman to the various government undertaking bodies.
