BJP's top priority is national security and not vote-bank politics: Amit Shah on NRC in Bhopal
Bhopal, Sept 25 (IBNS): Raising the Assam National Register of Citizens (NRC) issue in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah on Tuesday said the saffron party's top priority is national security and not vote-bank politics.
Addressing a gathering of BJP workers in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Shah said: "After coming to power in Assam and the central government, we (BJP) implemented NRC. After the implementation, 40 lakh infiltrators have been marked. They will be removed from voters' list.
"I want to tell the Congress that BJP's top priority is national security and not vote-bank politics."
Shah is accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the mega rally in the state, where elections are due at the end of the year.

The BJP president also said the Congress made the state "ill".
Attacking the Congress, which has been predicted to win the state polls by a recent survey, Shah said: "How can Congress, which had been involved in corruption, was struck in policy paralysis and kept national security at risk, ask for votes?"
Taking a dig at Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Shah said the former is "daydreaming of winning".
In an attempt to boost up the party workers, the BJP president said: "Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan worked so well that all workers can go to people with their broad chests."
