BSF jawan commits suicide in J&K's Baramulla

Srinagar, Jun 18 (UNI) A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan on Tuesday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.

This is the second incident since morning that a security force jawan committed suicide in Kashmir valley.

Official sources said that a jawan, who was posted in Singhpora in Baramulla, allegedly shot himself with his service rifle when he was on duty on Tuesday.

“Other jawans rushed towards the area and found him in a pool of blood,” they said.

They said the soldier was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

“It was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step,” they said, adding police has registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.

An Army soldier allegedly committed suicide by shooting self with his service rifle at Sadau Ganga area in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara on Tuesday.
