Budget will fulfill people's dream: PM Modi

New Delhi, Feb 1 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said this year's budget will fulfill the dreams of all people, media reports said.

The annual budget will be produced by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today.

Before presenting the Budget, Jaitley met President  Ram Nath Kovind.

The official Twitter page of the President of India said: "As per tradition, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley calls on #PresidentKovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan before presenting the Union Budget."

The government on Monday tabled in Parliament the Economic Survey of India which projected GDP growth between  7 and 7.5 per cent in  2018-19, reports said.

The Economic Survey 2017-18 was presented by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely on the opening day of the budget session.

The recent projection by the World Bank shows that the Indian economy is expected to grow at 7.3 per cent in 2018-19. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) gives a growth projection of 7.4 per cent.

This is the last full budget of the NDA government ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha poll.
