Caller claims bomb on Air India flight, high alert in Kolkata airport

Kolkata, Sept 20 (IBNS) : A call claiming that there is a bomb on the Guwahati-bound flight pressed the alarm leading to a heightened security at Kolkata airport on Tuesday morning, reports said.

The call was received before the flight was scheduled to take off from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International airport and immediately boarding was stopped.

The plane was taken to isolation and bomb detection and disposal squad started a thorough inspection.

A woman called Air India at 08:20 am and told them about a suspected bomb on the flight to Guwahati, which was scheduled to take off at 9 30 am.
